Take your orchestra on a journey into the Deep Dark Wood……

Inspired by the opening of Peter and the Wolf, Philip Mackenzie has created these two new works for narrator and Orchestra as a wayof introducing children to the peripheral instruments of the Orchestra. “Each character in this tale is represented by a different instrument of the Orchestra.

The Mouse by the piccolo
The Snake by the cor anglais
The Fox bythe E flat Clarinet
The Owl by the French horn
The Gruffalo by the contrabassoon.

Each performance is a accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation on the big screen using illustrations by Axel Scheffler.
